Shire Cottage, a sunny, spacious townhouse in the heart of Holt, can easily accommodate a maximum of four people. The Cottage has all the necessary commodities and is literally surrounded by the finest cafés, restaurants, boutiques, award winning delis and grocery stores, indeed, so many luxuries and conveniences, you'll want to stay for good!

  • Be the envy of all visitors and locals alike, with private parking on a gravel driveway behind double white gates at the front of the cottage.

  • A generous entrance hall allows you to kick off walking boots, hang up your coats and drop off the shopping bags when you walk in the front door.

  • The lounge boasts a beautiful south facing bay window, easy-to-use electric fire in original fireplace, comfy seating, 32" Sony Bravia TV with Freeview, DVD player, books, board games and dining area with seating for 4 people.

  • The cottage has theromostat-controlled central heating and the new combi boiler means that hot water is available on demand.

  • The kitchen contains all the necessities, including microwave combi oven, hob, George Foreman grill, kettle, toaster, refrigerator, freezer and washing machine. A handy hatch links the kitchen with the dining area.

  • Upstairs a large master bedroom with kingsize bed and twin room provide plenty of space to sleep up to four people.

  • The two bedrooms are light and airy, with comfy beds and tastefully decorated with window views of the town's most historic buildings. 

  • In the twin room, the second bed can be easily stored, creating a more spacious single room if preferred. A travel cot is also available, if required.

  • The bathroom is also upstairs and is fitted with a claw-foot dual-end bath with hand-held shower, allowing you to bathe and relax in luxury.

The fantastic location means that you are quite literally a few steps from everything. Food halls, butchers, fishmongers, supermarkets, take-aways, off-licenses and one of the few remaining traditional county comer shops will supply everything you could possibly need for eating in. You could however, step out of the gate and into any number of fine restaurants. Byfords cafe & deli is right in front of the cottage and is the perfect place for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Our guests rave about the treats on offer in their deli, particularly the fabulous sponge cakes!

Holt is great for shopping too. Fashion boutiques and unique home and garden stores along with art galleries, florists and antique shops will keep any shopaholic busy. Make sure you come and see us at Nelson's Eye Patch, our boutique optician a few paces away from Shire Cottage.

Whilst in the midst of this bustling Georgian town, Shire Cottage is a surprisingly quiet and tranquil place to enjoy your stay.
